{Persian Cats Generalities}

The Persian cat is named after its origin: indeed, it is native to Iran. Subsequently, some travelers from Italy brought her back to Europe where the Persian was the happiness of the bourgeois. In the nineteenth century, the British changed the original form of that race to create other types of cats.
This cat is very popular, especially for its natural beauty and its nose despite a flat body rather round. Her long hair is really the hallmark of the breed,best-selling cat breed worldwide. It is also much loved in the English-speaking countries such as Britain or the United States.
The typical shape of the head makes the Persian cat easy recognizable. The head is fairly round but with cheekbones and chin well marked. In addition, her little nose just round is legendary. But it is the eyes of the Persian which gives an air of softness. Their silky coat and their eyes are their strong point during felines contests. However, these eyes are fragile, the Persians have regularly tear problems.
Regarding the different dresses of this cat, we can identify three different types. Initially, the first Persians had a dress uniform. The dominant color can vary, but white, cream and chocolate are fairly regularly. Some Persian cats have several coat colors. This is due to crosses made by the British. One then finds the dominant red, blue or even tortoise shell. The last type of dress is called tabby. These cats are like when their original color, not dark but variations tiger or spotted. Many breeds were developed from crosses as exotic shorthair or the Himalayas.
Persian cats are home-loving and quiet. They are well suited to apartment life. The main difficulty of maintenance is to monitor their diet, the Persian cat has a tendency to eat a lot. Finally, a very regular brushing is required for these long-haired cats.
